A Little Something Every Day...

One of my New Year's goals is to write something every day. Who knows what I'll write about?

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Back in Fl (briefly!) to much warmer than average temps. Glad to be out of the cold, but I'll be back there in a few days for a family funeral. Going from hot, cold, hot, cold, back to hot-hopefully I don't wind up sick.

Didn't get to any more movies in 2007, so I guess my number was 59. Very poor number. 2008 I hope to get to more. Besides keeping track of my movies here, I'm also going to do books I've read just for the fun of it. I know I read a lot and I just would like to see by the end of 2008 how many I've read!

So for 2007, these are my top 10 movies (from the movies I've blogged-there were a few like Dreamgirls and the Departed that I probably saw in early 07 before I started blogging that would have made the top 10, but I decided to leave them off)

10. The Ultimate Gift (I saw this on DVD, but it was a 2007 release so I'm including it in the list because it was just so good)

9. The Brave One

8. American Gangster

7. The Simpsons Movie

6. Juno

5. Hairspray

4. Reign Over Me

3. The Namesake

2. Gone Baby Gone

1. August Rush

So that's my top ten of 2007.

Merry Christmas!

I'm in snowy Minnesota. It snowed a bit today, but wasn't too cold. Saturday and Sunday it was cold and windy!!!

Tomorrow I'm going to do some shopping. I'm very excited to be able to go to half price books and cheapo discs! There aren't any good used bookstores or used cd places in my area. I'll also be catching a few movies. Saw Juno today.

I'm not doing too well on my movie challenge, I won't even hit 100! I will do this again for 2008. This time I will have the whole year so my target will be 365. With the writer's strike going on and really crappy tv, I may be seeing quite a few movies over the next few months!

Here's since the last post:

56. In and Out (TV) 6.5/10. Entertaining enough for a night at home.

57. In the Land of Women (DVD) 4/10. The critics were right. This was a pretty bad movie.

58. August Rush (Theater) 10/10. My new favorite movie (knocking Rudy off the top spot it's held since that first came out in the theater a long, long time ago). Just a great story as long as you don't try to take it too seriously and see it as a sort of modern day fairy tale.

59. Juno (Theater) 7.5/10. Funny, smart. Glad I saw this when I was in Minnesota, because some of the funny things were pretty Minnesotan, and everyone in the theater laughed. I think at a Florida theater, I would have been the only one laughing.

Things I hope to see the rest of the holiday period: P.S. I Love You, Alvin and the Chipmunks (I know, but I love the Chipmunks!) Enchanted, No Country for Old Men.

I'll update again at the end of the year, along with posting my top 10 of the year list.
