A Little Something Every Day...

One of my New Year's goals is to write something every day. Who knows what I'll write about?

Football Season!

Football season is begining as this week training camps have opened.

My biggest excitement-Ricky Williams has come out of retirement and will play for the Dolphins this year. When I moved here to Florida last year that was one of the things I was looking forward to, being able to watch Ricky play every Sunday. When he announced his retirement last year, I was greatly dissapointed. But he's back and according to the training camp reports in the papers here, he's looking good and should be good to go when his suspension is over. I once rode on an escalator and walked down the hall with Ricky Williams while he was with the Saints in a downtown Minneapolis hotel.

I think the Vikings will finally have somewhat of a chance to get to the Super Bowl. Who needs Randy Moss? The last few years the defense had been so horrible. Even an average defense, which I think we now have, will make such a huge difference in the win/loss column.

For you other football fans, I recommend reading Peter King's columns on si.com. He's the best football columnist I've read (and I read a lot!). His dispatches from training camp are great, and during the season his Monday Morning Quarterback column is a must read.

Skol Vikings!

P.S. I'm pretty disapoointed the Wild won't be playing down here in Florida at all this season, I was really looking forward to that possibility!

Space Shuttle

I didn't get to go up to Cocoa Beach like I had wanted to watch the launch because I couldn't leave the office. I did go down to our beach and watch the launch. We are probably 90 miles south of the launch site, maybe a tad more. From our beach you could see the vapor trail and also the flames coming out of the engines, but the shuttle itself was tiny. At one point, there was a big flash, maybe when the SRB's were disconnecting? The whole thing lasted maybe a minute before it was out of the atmosphere. It was neat, though. Maybe next time I'll get to be closer.

Welcome!

I've been reading a lot of other people's blogs lately (mostly political stuff) and decided it would be fun to do my own. I don't know what I'll be writing about. Sometimes it will be interesting, sometimes it might be pretty boring, who knows? I figured it would be a good way for friends and family to keep up with my goings on. Eventually I figure I'll get around to posting photos and other fun stuff so stay tuned!
