A Little Something Every Day...

One of my New Year's goals is to write something every day. Who knows what I'll write about?

Hey, I'm updating my blog, are pigs flying?

There is a certain tree here in South Florida that's really pretty, it has large round clusters of these yellow flowers. Very pretty, but I have discovered I'm very allergic! I'll try to take a picture and post it here. You can smell all the blooming trees in the air right now, even though there may not be any nearby...

I've been reading about all these people who have goals of watching 365 new movies (or movies I haven't seen in years) in a year. I thought I'd give it a try starting this week. Since I'm already about 90 days into the year, I'll go for 300 by December 31. I'll list them all here to keep track. Movies are in the theater, DVD, and whole movies on tv. I'll try to rate them and give a short review. So far this week I have:

1. A Good Year (DVD) Russel Crowe inherits a vineyard in France. 6/10. Better than I expected, but pretty predictable.

2. Blades of Glory (Theater) 7/10. As with most of these kinds of movies, some parts were really funny and others kind of lame. There were more lame parts than funny, but still entertaining.

3. Premonition (Theater) Sandra Bullock movie where she sees her husband is going to die and keeps going back and forth between her "premonitions" and real life, and gets confused and everyone thinks she's crazy. It was ok. 6/10. Some parts really didn't make sense if you really thought about it, and there were a few things that weren't believable at all.

4. Reign Over Me (Theater) 8/10. Excellent movie. Great story, and funny, too.

I usually go to the theater on Tuesday nights because with my Regal Club Card, I get free popcorn!

I'm also in the middle of watching "An Evening with Kevin Smith" which is totally hillarious. Clerks 2 was probably in my top 3 movies of 2006.

I'm hoping to get up to Vero to see "The Namesake" this weekend. It's not going to show here at my theater (dang, I won't earn points then!)
