What a beautiful day!
What do you know, an updated blog! Partly just to rub it in to you Minnesotans who got some snow showers today just how nice it is here in FL...
I took my kayak out after work. There's a small little park(on the St. Lucie River) just down the road where it's super easy to put kayaks and canoes in. It's an old, closed boat ramp that now only non motorized boats are allowed. This was the second time this week I was able to get out. (I went out Sunday afternoon as well). The weather was beautiful, about 84 degrees, very little wind. I saw a big hawk sitting on part of an old dock. He let me get real close to him before he flew away. I also had lots of fish jumping around me the whole way. I ordered a case that makes my camera waterproof so soon I'll get to take some pictures when I'm out on the boat.
I'm also looking to buy a gps unit...it would be extremely helpful when paddling some of the places here so I don't get lost. Also I've been reading up on geocaching, which sounds really fun so once I get my gps I'll be doing some of that.
I'm planning a weekend camping trip at Everglades National Park for probably the first weekend in November. I'll be bringing the kayak with. I went camping there about a year and a half ago (before I had my boat here) and thought at that time what a great place to bring my boat. So I'll be doing that soon!
That's about all that's new!
